We dreamt of it:

We often wished we could easily share a cool find or an unforgettable encounter during a trip far away from home or just around the corner from where we live, without really being able to do it...
We often wished we could bring back unusual and original objects for our friends without finding something which really was worth it...
We often thought we were traveling off the beaten track and found ourselves in a in a store which had lost all authentic character…
We dreamt of a website which would guide us, help us find the unfindable, give more meaning to our travels, share with others our cool finds.

We did it!

neomarco, the new marco polos, makes this dream a reality.

We have worked for several months now on creating a community of "tester" travelers, we met globetrotters, organizations involved in humanitarian projects around the world, spent hours with object aficionados who shared their cool finds with us, we even came across and were told of "anchored travelers" who discover the world via other adventurers!
This all lead us to the birth of a small start-up company which is now incubated in Marseilles, France and to the launch of the neomarco.com website.

neomarco is a community of members who spot, find, and share cool objects all over the world, allowing others to buy them for themselves, and exchange services. In the near future, neomarco will organize object transportation as well as the exchange of services between members in order for them to be rewarded financially.
neomarco is therefore a new, simple and easy way to discover and buy unusual, authentic and ethical objects recommended by its members.

An unusual object? It is surprising, unique, rare, unfindable in other parts of the world. Not necessarily ethical or authentic, its contributes to making a travel experience unforgettable.

An authentic object? It is generally part of the local traditions and folklore, or perhaps a regional delicacy. It is often made by an artisan and is a part of the place's history.

An ethical object? It is produced in a conscientious way, respecting both the people who make it as well as the environment. It can be made out of organic ingredients or recycled and eco-friendly materials. Bought at the right price, it can also be a fair trade product.

You rate your objects, comment your evaluation and share it. The neomarco community members can add to your description by telling what they know about the object you found. Together, you are the narrators of the world objects story.
And don't forget to ask your friends just before leaving: “what can I bring back for you?”
